1/2 cup Quick Cooking Oats

1/2 cup White Wheat Flour ( unsifted)

1/2 cup All Purpose Flour ( unsifted)

1/2 cup Wheat Germ

2 tablespoons grated California ORANGE RINDS

2 Eggs1 cup whole blanched California Almonds

1/2 cup Raisins

1/2 cup flaked Coconut

1/2 cup semi-Sweet Chocolate Bits

Cream butter with 1/4 cup brown sugar until soft, beat in oats , flour, wheat germ and orange rinds. Put into 9-inch square pan. Mix eggs, almonds ,raisins , coconut, chocolate bits and 1/4 cup brown sugar ( packed). Pour onto base and spread out evenly. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes ( or until almonds are golden brown). Cool and cut into a dozen bars. Wrap in aluminum foil.

Federally-ordered, environmentally-driven, cutbacks of water going south from California’s Sacramento Delta, … Beyond that, I’m an existentialist secularist who loves classical music, hiking in the West, nature photography, bad puns, writing poetry, ethnic cooking and much more. Not your typical Zinfandel, and definitely open to interpretation – hence its name. A very food-friendly wine, as a zinfandel should be – only … Winehiker Witiculture supports the California Wine Hikes tour and travel website.
Energy bars: any worth eating? – I have been taking and eating Cliff bars on my hikes as a quick snack but I have to say that Melissa’s Magnificent Hiking Cookies sound way better. I’ll have to give her recipe a try. They sound great. If the hike is long enough, I’ll also take … I do not particularly care for energy bars but Cliff Bar’s chocolate almond is not to bad. My favorite trail snack is my version of gorp. After, thousands of miles of backpacking, I believe I have perfected it. …

It would make a nice sweet snack if you were out hiking. ROASTED PEANUT The first thing I thought when I tried this bar was OH MY GOD SNICKERS.
